Tamar Belle Open Day

The starter signal is off for the forthcoming Open Day at the Tamar Belle Heritage Centre at Bere Ferrers Station. Amongst the attractions are:

Three engines

Operating signals

Light refreshments

Live music from the Bere Ferrers Railway Band  1.30 and 3.30pm

FREE ADMISSION but donations to the Heritage Centre are welcome!

Children must be accompanied and under the supervision of an adult at all times.

Poster Correction

Saturday July 1st - Supper Night and Ceilidh 
This month it’s a delicious choice of fish or beef pie or cauliflower cheese, all served with new potatoes and peas, still only £6 for a main course and £4 for dessert. New Green Waste Collection Charges

From Cllr John Sheldon:
The service will be fortnightly (as now), with garden waste collected in new style sacks with permits attached. Residents signing up for the scheme will be issued with four permits and four new sacks which are a different design from the existing ones.
Residents can subscribe to the new scheme for £40 a year at from 26 June 2017. Households across the Borough will soon receive a leaflet about the new scheme and how to sign up.
Anyone signing up before this date (31st July 2017) will be able to take advantage of an introductory offer of buying 14 months for the price of 12.

Bere Ferrers Art Group Summer Exhibition 2017

The popular Bere Ferrers Art Group Summer Exhibition opens on Saturday 15th July, continuing through to Sunday 16th July and the following weekend, Saturday 22nd July (also Watersports Day) and Sunday 23rd July. The exhibition will be held at the Old Coach House, Bere Ferrers, courtesy of Daphne McDonald.
This year there many different exhibits on display. The Exhibition is open between 10am and 6pm except Sunday 23rd, when it will close at 4pm. Admission is free and most of the exhibits are for sale. Various types of cards will also be on sale.
In addition, Daphne will be opening her gardens in aid of Cancer Research UK.
